Full & Partial House Rewires

Complete and partial rewires for homes of every age, carried out with minimal disruption and full certification.

Much of the housing across Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Blackburn was built long before modern electrical demands existed. Wiring that was perfectly adequate decades ago can become tired, overloaded or unsafe - particularly in older terraced properties where cabling may date back to the 1960s or earlier.

SWR Electrical carries out full and partial rewires to bring your property up to the current wiring regulations (BS 7671). We plan every job carefully so that you know exactly what's happening and when, protect your floors and furnishings while we work, and leave the property clean and tidy at the end of every day.

A rewire is also the perfect opportunity to put sockets, lighting and data points exactly where you need them - so we'll talk through how you actually use each room before any cable goes in.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a full rewire take?

A typical two or three-bedroom terraced house usually takes around five to eight working days, depending on the size of the property, access and the specification. We'll give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

Can I stay in the house during a rewire?

In most cases, yes. We work in sections and restore power at the end of each day wherever possible, so you can continue living at home.

Will there be much mess?

Some lifting of floorboards and chasing of walls is unavoidable, but we use dust sheets, keep work areas contained and clean up thoroughly. We can also recommend trusted plasterers and decorators for making good.
